Job summary

Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton, Iowa, is seeking a Staff Registered Nurse (PRN) to join the patient care team. The RN/LPN will plan, organize, deliver, and evaluate nursing care, and adapt to ER/Float or Total Pt.

Care assignments. Required qualifications include current Iowa licensure as an RN or LPN, graduation from an approved nursing program, and ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification for RNs; expanded IV Therapy for LPN is optional.

Qualifications

• LPN: Current Iowa licensure and graduation from a state-approved nursing program.
• RN: Current Iowa RN licensure with ADN, Diploma, or BSN and ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification.
• Expanded IV Therapy course for LPN is optional.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

PRN

The Staff Registered Nurse is a member of the health care team.

He/She:

• 1. The staff nurse (RN/LPN) plans, organizes, coordinates, delivers, and evaluates the nursing care of the patients.
• 2. He/She delivers care in accordance with the care modality of the assignment. (ER/Float Nurse, Total Pt. Care Nurse)
• 3. The staff nurse (RN/LPN) demonstrates sound clinical judgment in assessing and observing pts., interpreting signs and symptoms, and in initiating action and intervention.
• 4. He/She is skilled, organized, and efficient in performing required nursing activities.

Required Qualifications

LPN: Current Iowa licensure as an LPN.

Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an LPN.

Expanded IV Therapy Course for the LPN-optional

RN: Current Iowa licensure as an RN. Graduated from a state approved nursing program as an ADN, Diploma, or BSN degreed RN. Maintains current ACLS/PALS/BCLS certification
