Job summary

Child Serve offers a warm, supportive housing and care setting for children and young adults requiring around-the-clock medical attention. This RN/LPN role provides nursing care within a team-focused environment, balancing patient care with documentation and care planning.

Full-Time Days, weekends, and PRN options available, with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, retirement with company match, and front-loaded PTO.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current valid license as a RN or LPN in Iowa.
• Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days and prior to working independently.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs and be mobile in clinical areas.
• Must be willing to obtain chauffeur's license.
• Must communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).

Responsibilities

• Provide full range of nursing care per nursing process and care plans.
• Provide nursing oversight of medical care delivered by RA/CMA and train residents, families, staff as needed.
• Communicate professionally with residents, families, physicians and staff to assess and meet care needs.
• Assist residents to become as independent as possible in personal cares, meals, and life skills.
• Collaborate with coworkers and maintain positive relationships with team members.

Job description

As an RN/LPN, you will provide professional nursing care while supporting residents with personal care and skill development. With low patient ratios, you’ll have the chance to build meaningful connections and participate in enjoyable activities that enhance the lives of those we serve.

Available Schedule/Benefits

• Full-Time Days - 3 shifts per week, 6am-6pm, every 3rdweekend


• Full-Time Weekends - 6am-6pm, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Within the nursing scope of practice, physician’s orders, and the resident’s care plan, makes decisions and delivers a full range of nursing care based on the fundamentals of the nursing process and maintains accurate, completed, and timely records as defined by nursing standards of practice and ChildServe policies and procedures.


• Provides nursing oversight of the medical care delivered by RA/CMA and training to resident, families, and staff as needed to help advance the skills and knowledge of all people associated with a resident’s care delivery.


• Communicates effectively, respectfully, and professionally with residents, physicians, families, school personnel, ChildServe staff, and others to assure assigned resident’s care needs are assessed, communicated, and met. Communication style establishes and maintains positive relationships.


• Assists the residents in becoming as independent as possible in personal cares, preparing meals, caring for the household, and other life skills areas.


• Interacts with coworkers based on mutual respect and trust and establishes and maintains positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and ChildServe.

What You’ll Need

• Current valid license as a RN or LPN in Iowa.


• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 90 days and before working independently.


• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.


• Must be willing to obtain chauffeurs license


• Ability to communicate effectively in (or through) reading, writing and speaking the English language.
