Job summary

Oak Hammock at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL is seeking RN/LPNs to direct the nursing staff and deliver patient-centered care in a supportive retirement community. RNs and LPNs will administer medications, monitor residents, and collaborate with physicians and families to maintain optimal wellbeing.

The role requires completion of a nursing program, a current Florida license, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Completion of a nursing program from an accredited school.
• At least 1 year of nursing care experience in a similar setting preferred.
• Current Florida nursing license.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to relate to staff, residents, families, and community members.
• Empathetic, energetic and have affinity for working with a diverse senior population.
• All applicants must complete Level II Background Check and Drug Screening.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing staff to ensure optimal wellbeing of residents.
• Administer and pass medications according to the five rights.
• Monitor residents’ condition and report changes to care plan.
• Participate in resident care planning and coordinate with physicians and families.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other care staff to improve wellbeing.
