Job summary

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current and valid RN/LPN license in the state employed.
  • Long term care/post-acute care setting preferred.
  • Completion of postsecondary education.
  • Capable of maintaining regular attendance (weekends and overtime) as required.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with regulations.
  • Assist in planning the nursing services portion of residents' discharge plans.
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary.
  • Chart nurses’ notes reflecting care provided and residents’ responses.
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician.
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure narcotics handling complies with regulations and accurate narcotic records.
  • Make daily rounds to ensure staff perform their duties.
  • Notify attending physicians and next-of-kin when conditions change or incidents occur.
  • Attend and participate in center in-service programs.

Emerald Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who is committed to providing the very best and safest care to our patients/residents. This RN will supervise the day-to-day nursing activities in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, current federal, state, and local standards, to ensure the highest quality of care is always maintained. Responsibilities:
  • Direct the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Assistants in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines that govern the long-term care center
  • Assist in planning the nursing services portion of the residents’ discharge plans as required
  • Complete accident/incident reports as necessary
  • Chart nurses’ notes in an informative and descriptive manner that reflects the care provided to the residents, as well as the residents’ responses to the care
  • Prepare and administer medications as ordered by the physician in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy
  • Order prescribed medications, supplies, and equipment as necessary and in accordance with established policies
  • Ensure that narcotics are handled in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and as required by center policy and that narcotic records are accurate for your shift
  • Make daily rounds of your unit/shift to ensure that nursing service personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards
  • Notify the residents’ attending physicians and next-of-kin when there is a change in the residents’ conditions or if the residents are involved in an incident or accident
  • Attend and participate in all center in-service programs as required
Qualifications:
  • MUST hold a current and valid Registered Nurse (RN)/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state employed
  • Long term care/post-acute care setting preferred
  • Completion of postsecondary education
  • Capable of maintaining regular attendance (i.e., weekend shifts and overtime) as required

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Per-diem
