Job summary

Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness, part of Evergreen Healthcare Group, seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team at the Thermopolis Skilled Nursing Facility. The DON will shape nursing philosophy, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive resident care excellence and staff development.

The ideal candidate holds a Wyoming RN license and a BSN, with certifications in rehab/geriatrics/psychiatric nursing and at least two years of LTC supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Current Wyoming Registered Nursing license.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Certification in Rehab Nursing, geriatrics, or psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Minimum two years' experience as nursing services supervisor in long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Develops nursing service philosophy, objectives, standards of practice, policy and process manuals.
• Establishes care-planning systems including assessments, plans of treatment, goals and discharge planning.
• Recruits, interviews, hires, disciplines, coaches and conducts performance appraisals.
• Ensures compliance with state/federal long-term care licensure and quality assurance.
• Oversees ED coverage in the DON's absence.

Education

Wyoming RN license

Bachelor of Science in Nursing

Certification in Rehab Nursing, geriatrics, or psychiatric nursing

Minimum two years' experience as nursing services supervisor in long-term care

Essential Functions:

• Develops and maintains a nursing service philosophy, objectives, standards of practice, policy and process manuals.

• Establishes systems for care planning, including assessments, plan of treatment, objectives and goals, evaluations and discharge planning.

• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, coaching, and conducting performance appraisals

• Demonstrates an understanding and knowledge of certification laws and requirements, survey requirements and Medicare program.

• Validates that reporting departments consistently meet state and federal requirements for long-term care facilities for licensure. Validates existence of a quality assurance program for nursing services and coordinates interdisciplinary quality assurance program.

• Directs the functions and activities of the ED in his/her absence.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Required: Current Registered Nursing license in Wyoming

• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Nursing

• Preferred: Certification in Rehab Nursing, geriatrics, or psychiatric nursing

• Preferred: Minimum two years' experience as a nursing services supervisor in a long-term care.
