Job summary

Thermopolis Rehabilitation and Wellness seeks a Director of Nursing to lead our skilled nursing team in Wyoming. This role oversees clinical operations, policy implementation, and quality assurance to ensure excellent resident care.

The DON will recruit and coach staff, manage performance, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate; join a facility with growth potential and a strong administrator support team.

Qualifications

• Current Wyoming RN license required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Certification in Rehab Nursing, geriatrics, or psychiatric nursing preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience as nursing services supervisor in long-term care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains a nursing service philosophy, objectives, standards of practice, policy and process manuals.
• Establishes systems for care planning, including assessments, plan of treatment, objectives and goals, evaluations and discharge planning.
• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, coaching, and conducting performance appraisals
• Demonstrates understanding of certification laws, survey requirements and Medicare program.
• Coordinates quality assurance programs and licensure compliance for the nursing services department.

This is a beautiful facility that needs a good clinical leader. We have an excellent Administrator and full support staff.

Essential Functions:

• Develops and maintains a nursing service philosophy, objectives, standards of practice, policy and process manuals.

• Establishes systems for care planning, including assessments, plan of treatment, objectives and goals, evaluations and discharge planning.

• Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, hiring, disciplining, coaching, and conducting performance appraisals

• Demonstrates an understanding and knowledge of certification laws and requirements, survey requirements and Medicare program.

• Validates that reporting departments consistently meet state and federal requirements for long-term care facilities for licensure. Validates existence of a quality assurance program for nursing services and coordinates interdisciplinary quality assurance program.

• Directs the functions and activities of the ED in his/her absence.

Education, Licensure, and Experience:

• Required: Current Registered Nursing license in Wyoming

• Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Nursing

• Preferred: Certification in Rehab Nursing, geriatrics, or psychiatric nursing

• Preferred: Minimum two years' experience as a nursing services supervisor in a long-term care.
