Job summary

Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL seeks a Patient Care Leader (RN) for Labor and Delivery on a full-time night shift. You will provide operational and clinical leadership, serve as a clinical resource, and mentor staff to uphold high-quality patient care.

You will collaborate with Care Management, nurses and physicians to implement interdisciplinary care plans, coordinate bed flow, support discharge readiness, and participate in performance improvement activities aimed at safe, compassionate care.

Qualifications

• BSN required and RN licensure.
• 2+ years nursing experience with leadership responsibility (charge nurse or similar).
• Strong clinical skills and ability to lead in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational and clinical leadership on the unit during the assigned shift as a clinical resource.
• Collaborate with Care Management, nurses and physicians to implement the interdisciplinary care plan and manage patient flow.
• Attend bed meetings and coordinate resources to support care and timely discharges.
• Assist with department productivity and contribute to financial outcomes and targets.
• Lead patient-centered, compassionate, high-quality care and mentor staff; promote a positive work culture.
• Advance evidence-based practice and performance improvement initiatives on the unit.
