Job summary

Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department. The 46-bed ER unit operates as a Level 2 trauma center with a 7pm–7am, full-time, 36-hour weekly schedule.

The RN provides and coordinates patient-centered care using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, and compassionate communication to ensure safety and optimal patient experience. Licensure in IL, CPR, BSN preferred or ADN with BSN plan required.

Qualifications

• Current IL RN license is required.
• BSN preferred; ADN acceptable with enrollment in BSN completion program.
• Current AHA CPR certification.
• Ability to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and use patient handling equipment as needed.
• Experience in emergency department or acute care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate patient-centered care in the 46-bed ER.
• Deliver care using evidence-based practice and clinical decision making.
• Support safe patient transitions to home or other services.
• Assist in evacuation and respond to emergencies.
