Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Stepdown Unit – PVSU (Progressive Ventilator Stepdown Unit). This full-time night position offers a $15,000 sign-on bonus for qualified applicants and requires a BSN or MSN with RN licensure.

The unit provides specialized care for ventilated patients with a 3:1 nurse-to-patient ratio and emphasizes rehabilitation, respiratory care, and physical therapy. BLS is required within 90 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Registered nursing license required.
• BSN is required or MSN preferred.
• BLS certification due within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the PVSU with a 3:1 patient ratio based on acuity.
• Demonstrate clinical leadership to improve safety, quality and workflow.
