Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center seeks a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery to coordinate patient care, perform assessments, develop care plans, and provide family-centered teaching.

You will document assessments, report changes to the physician, and support discharge planning to ensure safe, high-quality maternity care. Required: ADN with 1 year RN experience; Texas RN license (or compact with TX within 90 days); BLS; ACLS/ALS; NRP per policy; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year of clinical nursing experience as an RN
• Associate’s degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Texas RN license (or Compact license with TX license within 90 days)
• BLS and ACLS/ALS certifications required
• NRP certification required per policy
• RNC-OB preferred

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide patient care for all assigned L&D patients
• Complete admission interview and document patient assessment
• Identify changes in patient condition and report to physician or charge nurse
• Assess and document patient education needs and discharge teaching
• Provide psychosocial support to patient and family
• Facilitate interdisciplinary discharge planning
• Administer and document medications accurately
• Communicate significant information to physician/Clinical Nurse Coordinator
• Evaluate plan of care and modify as needed
