Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit, scheduling 36 hours per week with nights and every third weekend. The Maternal Child Health team emphasizes Magnet-recognized quality and equitable care in a busy, safety-net setting.

The RN will provide patient-centered care across antepartum to Labor & Delivery triage, supporting a high-quality care model and ongoing professional development. BMC offers growth opportunities and a strong focus on staff well-being.

Qualifications

Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
1+ years RN experience preferred.
BLS certification required; ACLS certification required in certain units.
Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred) with possibility to obtain BSN within 4 years.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency; ability to navigate EMR systems.

Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care in Maternal Child Health/Mother Baby Dept.
Assess, diagnose, plan, intervene, evaluate, educate patients.
Communicate with health care team, patients and families.
Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues.
Update and manage patient records; enter and interpret data.
Follow BMC nursing guidelines and policies; participate in quality improvement.
