Job summary

West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking an experienced RN for a full-time Labor & Delivery position dedicated to high-quality obstetric care in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

The role covers 36 hours per week with rotating day/night shifts and weekend requirements. Candidates should have PA RN licensure (or eNLC) and CPR certification; obstetric nursing certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in PA or via eNLC
• 2 years inpatient RN experience preferred
• CPR certification required
• Obstetric nursing certifications preferred (RNC-OB, RNC-MNN, RNC-IAP, C-EFM, C-OBE)

Responsibilities

• Assess and plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for individuals or families.
• Provide leadership in a professional practice setting.
• Assign or delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill levels.
• Provide feedback regarding clinical practice and role performance to peers.
• Participate on interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care or health services.
• Promote patient safety initiatives and participate in department-specific quality initiatives.
• Utilize the nursing process to develop patient care plans according to individual needs.
• Analyze health status and determine patient care needs.
• Assess patient condition changes and notify physicians/supervisors as necessary.
• Demonstrate commitment to continuous lifelong learning and professional development.
