Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in Nebraska.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• NRP certification required within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Triage walk-ins to determine labor status.
• Support pregnant patients in labor and manage pain.
• Educate patients on interventions and labor stages.
• Assess newborns and provide care.
• Communicate with care team including anesthesiologist, physician, patient and family.

Where You'll Work

The Family Birth Center at St. Francis Medical Center is a 15 Labor, Delivery, Recover, and Postpartum Unit (single room maternity care). We are a Level II Perinatal Center and care for patients from antepartum, labor, deliver and postpartum including providing mother-baby care

Our goal is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home where they can be supported by their family friends and community.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Labor & Delivery Nurse at St. Francis Medical Center, you'll guide patients through the labor and childbirth process, focusing on the safety of the mother and baby, with kindness and compassion.

Everyday you will be a part of the the recovery and postpartum which includes supporting families that are celebrating the arrival of a newborn and showing compassion and guidance during challenging moments.

To be successful in this role, you must remain calm and sensitive to help people through this huge milestones in their lives.

• Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc.
• Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring.
• Educate patients on various interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages.
• Assess newborns and provide care.
• Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician, patient and family.

We are offering up to $6,000 sign-on bonus and up to $10,000 educational assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
