Job summary

CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, Nebraska is seeking a Labor & Delivery Nurse to guide patients through labor and childbirth with safety and compassion.

You will support recovery and postpartum care, helping families celebrate the arrival of a newborn and offering guidance during challenging moments. To succeed, you must remain calm, attentive, and able to communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team as you monitor labor, provide comfort measures, and coordinate with

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc.
• Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance (if needed), general pain management and fetal monitoring.
• Educate patients on various interventions or procedures, medications (name and purpose), exams, and labor stages.
• Assess newborns and provide care.
• Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician, patient and family.
