Job summary

CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island, NE is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Nurse to guide families through labor, delivery, and postpartum care with a focus on safety and compassion. You will support newborn care, pain management, and collaborate with anesthesiologists and physicians to ensure optimal outcomes.

The role requires an RN license in Nebraska, BLS, and NRP within 6 months of hire, with opportunities for growth in a Level II Perinatal Center in a 15-bed unit.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an RN nursing program.
• Active RN licensure in the state of Nebraska.
• BLS through American Heart Association.
• NRP certification required within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage walk-ins to determine if a patient is in labor, water is broken, false alarm, etc.
• Support pregnant patients in labor including induction, epidural assistance, pain management and fetal monitoring.
• Educate patients on interventions, medications, exams, and labor stages.
• Assess newborns and provide care.
• Communicate with the care management team, including anesthesiologist, physician, patient and family.
