Job Summary and Qualifications

Work schedule: Nights

• Perform direct patient care within the RN scope of practice.
• Use therapeutic communication daily.
• Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
• Plan, implement, and direct care using the nursing process, focusing on individual patient needs.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families for informed healthcare decisions.
• Respect and honor patients' lifestyles, religions, and cultures.
• Provide age-specific care for newborns, pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients as assigned.
• Advocate for patients and educate them and their families throughout care.
• Delegate tasks appropriately.
• Supervise new employees, nurses, nurse assistants, students, and externs/interns.

Qualifications needed:

• 2 years recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 30 days of start.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of start.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of start.
• RN license in Texas or a compact state.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
