Job summary

Medasource is recruiting a Labor and Delivery RN for the HCA Kingwood unit in Houston, TX. The candidate will cover day and night shifts, with a focus on obstetric care, fetal monitoring, and critical medication administration.

Expect on-site duties in a 4-bed OB unit with comprehensive EMR input and strict adherence to unit guidelines. Required credentials include ACLS, BLS, intermediate fetal monitoring, and NRP, plus practical experience with magnesium sulfate and insulin drips.

Qualifications

• Two complete years of LDU experience (off orientation).
• ACLS, BLS, Int. Fetal Monitoring AWOHNN, and NRP required.
• Magnesium sulfate drip management and oxytocin management experience.
• Insulin drip management on occasion.

• Number of Beds – 4 OBED stretchers, 7 Antepartum Beds, 10 labor beds (room 11 down for broken labor bed), 2 LDOR rooms, 2 LD PACU bays


• Number of Staff – 79


• Type of staff: o Day Shift – 1 CNC, 1 Unit Secretary, 8 Rn, 2 Scrub Techs, 1 TCN 1 Resource TCN o Night Shift – 1 CNC, 1 Unit Secretary, 2 Scrub Techs, 7 RN, 1 TCN, 1 Resource TCN


• Patient Ratios – Obed (1:2-4 depending on acuity), APU 1:2-4 (depending on acuity) LDU 1:1-2 (depending on acuity)


• Type of equipment – bedside ultrasounds (MDs Use), dopplers, fetal monitors, infant warmers, OR equipment, labor beds, sterile vaginal tables glucometers


• EMR – Meditech, GE CPN Centricity
