Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for Interventional Radiology in Port Charlotte, FL. The role is a 13-week contract with 9:00 AM–5:30 PM schedules and rotation for every other weekend/holidays, working alongside IR teams in a fast-paced unit.

Ideal candidates have a Florida RN license (or compact), at least 1 year in Critical Care/ICU/ER, and NIHSS Stroke Education. BLS/ACLS are required within 6 months of hire; duties include direct patient care and peri-procedural support.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license or compact licensure required.
• Minimum 1 year of Critical Care, ICU, or ER experience.
• NIHSS Stroke Education Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physician orders and administer medications.
• Perform initial assessments and develop plans of care.
• Check lab results, review patient histories, and ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and post-operative care.
• Assist as circulator or scrub in to support the IR tech during procedures.

Schedule/Shift

Scheduled hours are from 9 AM to 5:30 PM. Traveler shall be expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Interventional Radiology unit, you will provide critical care and support to patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This fast-paced environment demands effective collaboration with a team of healthcare professionals, including IR RNs, IR techs, and the medical physician team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physician orders and administer medications.
• Perform initial assessments and develop plans of care.
• Check lab results, review patient histories, and ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and post-operative care.
• Assist as circulator or scrub in to support the IR tech during procedures.

Required Experience

• Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse or hold appropriate compact licensure.
• Minimum of 1 year of Critical Care, ICU, or ER experience required.
• NIHSS Stroke Education Certification required.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• American Heart Association ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required within 6 months of hire/transfer.
