UW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Pediatric PCU - Progressive Care Unit in Madison, Wisconsin. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care to pediatric patients, including those requiring technology assistance and complex conditions.

The role includes evening/night shifts, weekends, and a holiday rotation, with a strong emphasis on nursing excellence and compassionate care. A BSN is preferred and CPR/BLS and PALS are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Inpatient Units: six (6) months nursing experience or participation in UW Health Nurse Residency Program with completion of orientation.
Relevant RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Coordinate a holistic plan of care with a multidisciplinary team for the patient and family.
Care for children dependent on technology (ventilators, home dialysis, tracheostomies).
Care for patients with acute/chronic nephrology diseases, new type 1 diabetes, epilepsy, and scoliosis.

90% FTE, three - 12 hour evening/night shifts including every other weekend and a holiday rotation. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. You will work at the American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay

Pay:

Additional components of compensation may include:

Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked.
Weekend Differential: $4.25/hour as applicable for hours worked.

Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate a holistic plan of care for the patient and family.
Care for children dependent on technology such as home ventilators and home dialysis as well as children dependent on tracheostomies.
You will also care for patients with acute and chronic nephrology diseases, new diagnosis of type 1 diabetes, epilepsy and idiopathic/non-idiopathic scoliosis.

Work Experience

Inpatient Units: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
Relevant RN experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
PALS within 12 months Required
