Job summary

UW Health's American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 24-bed pediatric high-acuity unit. Evening/Night shifts are available (2 shifts: 1900-0730 or 2300-0730) with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

You will work to meet the diverse needs of pediatric patients from infancy to adolescence. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, shift differentials, and a focus on nurse residency and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit.

Responsibilities

• Care for pediatric patients on a 24-bed high acuity unit from infancy through adolescence.
• Care for patients with complex medical and surgical conditions, including organ transplantation, congenital anomalies, cardiovascular defects, trauma, urology repairs, and orthopedic injuries.

Job description

90% FTE, 8/12 hour Evening/Night shifts (1900-0730 or 2300-0730) with an every other weekend and holiday rotation. Hours are based off the operational needs of the department. You will work at the American Family Children's Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay

Additional components of compensation may include:

• Shift Differentials: $4/hour evening and $5/hour night as applicable for hours worked.
• Weekend Differential: $4.25/hour as applicable for hours worked.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required
• Relevant RN Experience Preferred
  

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Required
