UW Health's University Hospital in Madison, WI is seeking an RN to join a 25‑bed neuro specialty general care unit. You will care for medical and surgical adult neuro patients, participate in a dynamic interdisciplinary team, and support complex neuro diagnoses in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Six months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful orientation on unit.
  • Current WI RN license or a compact license, required.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Care for medical and surgical adult neuro patients, including post‑op spine, brain tumors, craniotomy, and neuro trauma.
  • Collaborate with stroke professionals as part of the Comprehensive Stroke Program.
  • Assist epilepsy patients within the Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center.

Work Schedule:

75% FTE, 8/12-hour day/night shifts with a two in six weekend rotation. Holiday rotation required. You will work at the University Hospital in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:


  • Care for a variety of medical and surgical adult neuro patients to include post-surgical spine surgeries, brain tumors, craniotomy and ophthalmology cases along with neurological patients with multiple sclerosis, ALS, Guillain-Barre syndrome, and trauma or ortho patients with multiple injuries/diagnosis or spinal fractures requiring orthotics.

  • Become part of our interdisciplinary team of stroke professionals. UW Health is proud to be a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Program in WI with the ability to treat the most complex stroke cases in the state.

  • Help provide the highest level of diagnosis and treatment options for those with epilepsy. This unit includes a Level IV Comprehensive Epilepsy Center as designated by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred


Work Experience


  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health's Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required

  • Relevant RN Experience Preferred


Licenses & Certifications


  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required

  • Current CPR/BLS Certification Required

  • Relevant Certification Preferred
