Job summary

UW Health’s University Hospital in Madison, WI, seeks an experienced inpatient RN for our 18-bed Neuro ICU. 90% FTE with day/evening 7:00 am–11:30 pm shifts, every other weekend, and holiday rotation. The unit emphasizes research and quality improvement within a Magnet-designated facility.

• Utilize neurologic monitoring tech including ICP management, EEG and advanced neuroimaging
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team to ensure patient safety and quality care

Pay

Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening, $5/hour night and $4.25/hour weekend differential as applicable for hours worked.

We are seeking an experienced inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) to join our remarkable neurocritical care team!

About the unit

• Fast-paced unit that specializes in the care of critically ill adult patients with a variety of neuro diagnoses including, but not limited to: stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, seizure, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury and surgical resections.
• Utilize strong critical thinking skills and provide specialized interventions while working with multimodal neurologic technology including intracranial pressure management, EEG and advanced neuroimaging.
• Work alongside a team of motivated nurses where nurse-driven collaboration and partnership with nationally certified physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary care team is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit Required
• Relevant RN Experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Upon Hire Required
• Current CPR/BLS Certification Upon Hire Required
• ACLS within 6 months Required
• Relevant certification Preferred
