Job summary

UW Health’s East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg 3rd floor unit. The role is 75% FTE with evenings/night shifts and weekend/holiday rotations, offering differential pay and a patient-centered care culture.

The unit is Magnet-designated and fast-paced, with a strong interdisciplinary team, state-of-the-art technology, and opportunities for professional growth alongside a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• 6 months inpatient nursing experience or current Nurse Residency Program participation with completion of orientation on unit.
• WI RN license or compact license required.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a professional environment.
• Care for general medical/surgical patients on the Med Surg 3rd floor unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Develop, execute, and evaluate the multidisciplinary plan of care.

Work Schedule:

75% FTE, primarily 12 hour evening/night shifts with a weekend and holiday rotation. We offer a competitive starting pay, relevant work experience will be considered, this position also includes a shift/weekend differential. You will work at East Madison Hospital in Madison, WI.

Pay:

• Additional components of compensation include impressive shift differentials - $4/hour evening, $5/hour night and $4.25/hour weekend differential as applicable for hours worked.

The Med Surg 3rd floor Inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 27-bed medical surgical unit that offers rewarding nursing opportunities at a Magnet designated hospital with the latest state of the art technology and equipment!

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to:

• Help provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a professional environment that fosters and values collaboration, respect, and diversity.


• Join a team of remarkable nurses and have the opportunity to care for general care and select IMC patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses.


• Work in a collaborative environment, surrounded by state of the art technology, evidence-based practice and a strong interdisciplinary team.

• Collaborate in the development, execution and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred

Work Experience

• Inpatient Units: Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit. Required


• Relevant RN Experience Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact Required


• Current CPR/BLS Certification Required


• Relevant Certification Preferred
