Job summary

Cantex Continuing Care Network is seeking an Infection Preventionist to lead the infection control program across our facilities. You will direct the infection control committee and collaborate with the IDT and Medical Director to promote scientifically grounded prevention practices.

Reporting to the Director of Nursing, you will implement goals, monitor compliance, and provide in‑services to staff while supporting patient and staff safety and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN/LVN/LPN license in the applicable state is required.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory experience in long-term or health care settings preferred.
• Must complete Infection Preventionist Course and obtain certification.
• Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to present information to department heads, patients, families and others.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and review documentation and interventions daily including antibiotic-related records.
• Lead infection prevention surveillance and antibiotic stewardship activities.
• Track CDiff diagnoses and maintain infection control records.
• Educate staff on infection prevention practices and conduct in‑services.
• Coordinate with HR and other departments to ensure IP training and compliance.
• Review medical records for timely assessments, interventions and notifications.
