Job summary

Hawaii Health Systems Corporation (East Hawaii Region) seeks an experienced Registered Nurse at Hilo Benioff Medical Center to provide direct patient care and education. The role emphasizes coordination with physicians and teams to ensure quality, safe, and compassionate treatment.

The position requires completion of an accredited nursing program, Hawaii RN licensure, and BLS. A BSN is highly desirable, with a commitment to patient-centered care and 24/7 operations.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in nursing is highly desirable.
• Evidence of appropriate training (transcripts or diploma) should be submitted with the application.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for adults and geriatrics, including meds, treatments, and discharge teaching.
• Monitor and document patient conditions, responses to treatment, and ongoing assessments.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments.
• Provide patient and family education on disease processes, meds, treatments, and follow-up care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, patient-centered environment with infection control and safety standards.
• Serve as Charge Nurse or team leader, assisting with staffing and mentoring.
