Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking a dedicated RN to conduct preoperative assessments and coordinate tests for patients scheduled for surgical procedures in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities include reviewing medical histories, documenting medications, and collaborating with surgeons and anesthesiologists to develop individualized care plans while maintaining detailed records and adhering to infection control protocols. Competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• ASN or higher.
• Texas RN license.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• 2+ years RN experience in Pre Assessment, PACU, PreOp or Endoscopy.
• Work Unit: Single Unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients in an assigned unit
• Possesses knowledge and skills to meet nursing standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nurse Practice Act with supervision
• Provide patient care through nursing-based practices upon the American Nurses Association Standards of Professional Practice and Professional Performance.
• Demonstrate a proficiency in delivering high quality age specific patient care
• Develop effective working relationships with all members of the ASC and Clinic
• Communicate information effectively, appropriately, and with courtesy regarding patient conditions to those who require the information including physicians, anesthesia, management, staff, patients, families, and visitors
• Perform safe and competent nursing care according to the organization's policy & procedures and or ASPAN (American Society of Peri Anesthesia Nursing) standards and or AORN (Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses) standards and or SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates) standards
