Job summary

Fairview Range is seeking a Registered Nurse II (RN II) for Infusion at the Hibbing clinic in Hibbing, MN. The role involves direct patient care including chemotherapy administration and venous access management within an infusion setting.

The RN will educate patients and families, monitor responses, and ensure safe administration of IV medications. Oncologic experience and BLS are required; OCN is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1 year acute and/or ambulatory direct patient care experience
• 1-year recent oncology experience
• MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support within 90 days
• ONS-Chemo Immuno Cert within 180 days

Job Overview

Fairview Range is looking for a Registered Nurse to join our Infusion Department at our Fairview Range Hibbing Clinic in Hibbing, MN.

The Infusion Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to patients as well as indirect care. This may include the safe administration of chemotherapy agents or other infusions, as well as care for various venous access devices, foleys, and other duties as necessary specific to the patient and treatment plan.

Schedule

This position will work 32 to 64 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8-hours on the Day/Evening shift. Weekends: As needed

As a Registered Nurse II (RN II) Infusion, you will be responsible for:

• Administration of Chemotherapy
• Knowledge of drugs and side effects.
• Safe administration of chemotherapy agents.
• Safe administration of IV solutions and medication additives.
• Knowledge of various venous access devices.
• Ability to mix chemotherapy agents and other intravenous medications and solutions accurately and safely.
• Patient/Family Education
• Provides an environment conducive to patient/family teaching.
• Identifies patient/family knowledge/skill deficits and teaches accordingly to accommodate the family/patient needs related to illness, age and ability to learn.
• Identifies alternative resources for education if necessary.
• Provides patient/family education based on patient needs as determined by medical/nursing diagnosis and general maintenance, incorporating outside resources, and utilizing written information as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• 1 year acute and/or ambulatory direct patient care experience or
• 1-year recent oncology experience
• MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
• Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross) within 90 Days
• ONS-Chemo Immuno Cert within 180 Days

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Nursing
• Oncology Certified Nurse
