Job summary

Houston Methodist West Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse II for the Night Shift in IMU. This experienced nurse provides professional care, conducts assessments, assists with exams and treatments, and collaborates with physicians and the care team to achieve quality outcomes.

The RN II demonstrates leadership, may serve as charge nurse or preceptor, and participates in unit-based governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Twelve months registered nurse experience in a healthcare environment.
• Must obtain permanent Texas RN license within 60 days if establishing Texas residency.
• BLS - Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA).
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support or Instructor (AHA) within 4 months.
• NIHSTROKE Certification and Magnet certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, and maintains medical records.
• Collaborates with physicians and interprofessional team to coordinate and deliver quality care.
• Demonstrates leadership roles such as charge nurse or preceptor when applicable.

Education

Graduate of education program approved by the credentialing body
