Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced RN II to provide competent direct patient care, perform assessments, assist with exams and treatment, educate patients, and maintain medical records. This role collaborates with physicians and the interprofessional team to achieve safe, high-quality outcomes.

The position supports unit governance activities, may serve as charge nurse or preceptor, and may participate in hospital-wide initiatives.

Qualifications

• Twelve months RN experience in a healthcare setting
• Must obtain permanent Texas license within 60 days (if establishing Texas residency)
• BLS certification required (AHA)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification within 4 months
• Magnet certification preferred (ANCC)
• Proficiency in English for clinical communication and safety

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care and conduct patient assessments
• Collaborate with physicians and interprofessional care team to achieve treatment outcomes
• Lead unit governance initiatives; serve as charge nurse or preceptor as assigned
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records; educate patients and families
