Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Richmond, Texas, is seeking a Nurse II to provide routine nursing care at the Richmond State Supported Living Center. Shifts include Morning, Evening and Night; on-call rotation may apply.

This exempt, full-time role includes benefits and opportunities to work across multiple homes within the SSLC system. The Direct Care RN evaluates, treats and documents healthcare needs, administers medications, and communicates with physicians and staff to ensure

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.
• At least six (6) months of experience as a practicing registered nurse in a health agency, hospital, or health-care facility is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, treats and documents healthcare needs and reports needs to appropriate persons as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments and observes patients for symptoms and reactions.
• Completes data entry, documentation and reports and maintains records in accordance with SSLC procedures.
• Provides support to LVNs and Certified Medication Aides and participates in QA/QI initiatives.
• Responds to emergency situations to ensure safety and care of individuals and staff.
