Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine seeks a dedicated Emergency Services RN for the Sibley Nursing Team in Washington, DC. The role supports an ED with 22 beds and fast track options, offering growth opportunities and a strong benefits package. Shifts include Nights with a 24-hour weekly expectation and alternating weekends.

A DC RN license and acute care experience are required; ED experience preferred. Applicants may have an Associate’s degree with enrollment in BSN/MSN within 1 year of hire, to complete

Qualifications

  • Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing may be considered if enrolled in BSN/MSN within 1 year and complete within 5 years.
  • DC licensure as a Registered Nurse required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in Emergency Department with focus on safety and quality.
  • Participate in education and quality improvement initiatives within the ED.

Shift: Nights 3p and 7p

Join our Sibley Nursing Team as an ED RN!

With its 318 beds, this non-profit, full-service acute care hospital offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

Unit Info
  • Emergency Department (22 ED beds, 6 Fast Track beds, 6 Hallway beds)
Minimum Education and Experience
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nurses
  • Minimum of 6 months RN acute care experience. Preferred, 1 year ED experience or more.

Applicants with an Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited nursing program may be considered; provided they are enrolled in an accredited BSN/MSN program within 1 year of hire and complete the degree within 5 years of hire.

Salary Range: Minimum 43.25/hour - Maximum 67.04/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
