Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine’s Sibley Nursing Team is seeking an Emergency Services Registered Nurse to provide high-quality ED care and participate in education and quality initiatives. This role supports a 24-hour ED with a focus on compassionate, evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.

Applicants should hold a DC RN license, have completed an accredited RN program, and possess at least 6 months of acute care experience, with ED experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia.
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nurses.
  • Minimum of 6 months RN acute care experience; ED preferred 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Provide emergency nursing care as an Emergency Services RN in the ED.
  • Engage in education and quality improvement initiatives alongside the team.
  • Contribute to a supportive environment with opportunities for growth on the Hopkins team.

With its 318 beds, this non-profit, full-service acute care hospital offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers; and the new patient tower with 200 spacious, private rooms.

As an Emergency Services Registered Nurse, you’ll find yourself at the heart of innovative clinical care, education, and quality improvement initiatives with many growth opportunities.

Unit Info:
  • Emergency Department (22 ED beds, 6 Fast Track beds, 6 Hallway beds)
Minimum Education and Experience:
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the District of Columbia
  • Graduation from an accredited program for Registered Nurses
  • Minimum of 6 months RN acute care experience. Preferred, 1 year ED experience or more.
