Job summary

UMMC Midtown Campus in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced registered nurse to provide direct patient care within a teaching hospital setting. You will perform assessments, develop individualized care plans, administer medications, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Responsibilities include patient education, documentation, and participating in staff meetings and governance activities.

Qualifications

• RN license in Maryland or eligible to practice per MD Board of Nursing.
• One year of nursing experience in a clinical setting.
• Current CPR certification required.
• ACLS provider completion within 1 year of employment in eligible units.
• PALS certification within 1 year of employment in eligible units.
• Maintenance of 10 contact hours of education every two years.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessments and reassessments to support nursing diagnosis.
• Develops individualized Plan of Care with measurable goals.
• Coordinates and directs resources and personnel for the Plan of Care.
• Performs treatments including medication administration per physician orders.
• Documents assessments, plan of care, and treatments thoroughly and timely.
• Educates patient and family; assesses and documents understanding.
• Communicates with health care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Facilitates safe patient throughput and appropriate discharges.
• Supports governance through committees and staff meetings.
