Job summary

Altru Health System seeks a Registered Nurse II to provide direct nursing care and coordinate patient care within an interdisciplinary team. You will educate patients to ensure safe discharge and adapt care to diverse needs on the unit.

Qualifications

• 6 years or more RN experience with ASN/ADN Degree OR BSN.
• Eligible to serve as Charge Nurse and Chair/Co-Chair Nursing Committee.
• Trained Peer Interviewer; Temporary RN license accepted prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily rounds, coordinating care and ensuring quality service.
• Develops a care plan based on assessment across patient needs and age.
• Assesses condition, sets goals, prescribes nursing actions including discharge planning.
• Monitors pain and responds per standard operating procedures.
• Initiates discharge planning early and educates patients/families.
