Job summary

Morristown, NJ-based hospital seeks an experienced ICU nurse to join our dedicated team. You will care for patients across pediatric to geriatric ages in a high-acuity setting, collaborating with a skilled team to deliver safe, evidence-based care.

You must have 1 year ICU experience, an active RN license, BLS and ACLS certifications. The role requires flexible night shifts (7p–7a) and a commitment to patient- and family-centered care.

Qualifications

• 1 year ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments from Pediatric to Geriatric patients.
• Provide skilled nursing care and use emergency equipment.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
• Uphold professional practice standards and knowledge of policies.
• Foster a patient- and family-centered care environment.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and safe transfer techniques.
• Tailor patient care based on procedures and anesthesia types.
• Prioritize patient care based on needs and condition changes.
• Engage patients and families in pre-operative and postoperative education.
• Support timely completion of patient testing and Pre Admission Testing orders (PAT).

Duties and Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough and accurate assessments for patients from Pediatric to Geriatric stages.
• Clinical Skills: Provide competent nursing care and demonstrate proficiency with emergency equipment and procedures.
• Documentation: Maintain complete and accurate patient records and documentation.
• Professionalism: Uphold professional practice standards and demonstrate knowledge of relevant policies.
• Patient Satisfaction: Foster a positive environment focused on patient and family-centered care.
• Safety: Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals and utilize safe transfer techniques.
• Unit Specific Functions: Tailor patient care based on surgical procedures and anesthesia types.
• Responsibility and Accountability: Prioritize patient care based on individual needs and condition changes.
• Patient Education: Engage patients and families in pre-operative and postoperative education.
• Duties Specific to PAT RN: Support timely completion of patient testing and evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders.
