WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can provide high-quality care to patients in a high acuity setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities
  • Assessment Skills:
    • Possess competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and deliver patient care appropriately.
    • Perform thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.
  • Clinical Skills:
    • Consistently demonstrate competent clinical skills.
    • Perform direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
    • Provide competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit.
    • Demonstrate knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of documentation guidelines.
    • Assume primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart, including patient education.
  • Professionalism:
    • Demonstrate professional practice responsibility.
    • Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures and identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
  • Consistently respond to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous, and positive manner.

    • Demonstrate knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered for surgical patients.
    • Individualize patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care.
    • Assess patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions.
  • Responsibility and Accountability:
    • Contribute to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care.
    • Prioritize the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
  • Patient Education and Chart Completion:
    • Assess patient's understanding of surgical procedure/instructions.
    • Actively include the patient and family members in teaching.
    • Perform pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
  • Duties Specific to PAT RN:
    • Support the completion of patient testing in a timely manner.
    • Evaluate Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.
