Job summary

Prime Healthcare seeks an ICU Charge Nurse to oversee nursing staff and operations in the ICU at Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX. The role ensures high-quality patient care, promotes a positive work environment, and coordinates interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal outcomes.

Lead, mentor, and support a diverse nursing team; monitor patient assessments and outcomes; manage resources and ensure adherence to standards, protocols, and regulatory requirements while fostering

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Active BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain.
• ACLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire and maintain.
• Supervisory experience preferred in acute care ICU settings.
• Minimum 1 year staff nurse experience in acute or critical care.
• BSN preferred; CCRN within 2 years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to ICU nursing staff.
• Ensure high-quality, safe, effective ICU care with monitoring and outcomes tracking.
• Distribute resources, staffing, equipment, and supplies; resolve resource challenges.
• Coordinate care with physicians, NPs, RTs, pharmacists, and other staff.
• Advocate for patients and families; uphold safety and ethics.
• Participate in quality improvement to enhance care and meet standards.
• Offer guidance and mentorship to ICU nursing staff; support ongoing development.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff in the ICU.

• Ensure that patients in the ICU receive high-quality, safe, and effective care, you will alsomonitorpatient assessments, interventions, and outcomes to ensure adherence to standards of practice and protocols

• Distribute resources, encompass staffing, equipment, and supplies, to fulfill the requirements of patients and staff, proactivelyidentifyand resolve any challengespertaining toresource availability or usage

• Coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of ICU patients

• Serve as an advocate for patients and families, ensure their needs, preferences, and concerns are addressed, push for patient safety, quality of care, and adherence to ethical principles

• Participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes,optimizingprocesses, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards

• Provide guidance, education, and mentorship to nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit,facilitateongoing professional development through training, continuing education opportunities, and performance feedback

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License.

• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.

• Current ACLS (AHA) 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU setting, preferred.

• Minimum of one year staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting preferred.

• CCRN (AACN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred.

• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
