Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking an ICU Charge Nurse at Dallas Medical Center – Farmers Branch, TX. You will lead the ICU nursing team, oversee patient care quality, and support interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize outcomes.

The role requires a Texas RN license, BLS and ACLS upon hire, with supervisory ICU experience preferred. A sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates, and shift is days with 12-hour hours.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Texas RN license.
• BLS certification required at hire.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire; maintain current.
• Minimum 1–2 years supervisory experience in ICU or acute care.
• CCRN within 2 years of hire preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to the ICU nursing staff.
• Ensure high-quality, safe care; monitor assessments, interventions and outcomes.
• Distribute resources (staffing, equipment, supplies) to meet patient and staff needs.
• Coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and others.
• Advocate for patients and families; address needs and safety concerns; uphold ethical standards.
• Participate in quality improvement activities to enhance patient care and regulatory compliance.
• Provide guidance, education, and mentorship to ICU staff for ongoing development.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Provide leadership and direction to the nursing staff in the ICU.

• Ensure that patients in the ICU receive high-quality, safe, and effective care, you will alsomonitorpatient assessments, interventions, and outcomes to ensure adherence to standards of practice and protocols

• Distribute resources, encompass staffing, equipment, and supplies, to fulfill the requirements of patients and staff, proactivelyidentifyand resolve any challengespertaining toresource availability or usage

• Coordinate care with physicians, nurse practitioners, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the care of ICU patients

• Serve as an advocate for patients and families, ensure their needs, preferences, and concerns are addressed, push for patient safety, quality of care, and adherence to ethical principles

• Participate in quality improvement activities and initiatives aimed at enhancing patient care outcomes,optimizingprocesses, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards

• Provide guidance, education, and mentorship to nursing staff in the Intensive Care Unit,facilitateongoing professional development through training, continuing education opportunities, and performance feedback

Qualifications

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License.

• Current BLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current.

• Current ACLS (AHA) 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Previous supervisory experience, one to two years, in acute care hospital, ICU setting, preferred.

• Minimum of one year staff nurse in an acute care hospital setting; Critical Care setting preferred.

• CCRN (AACN) within 2 years of hire, preferred.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN), preferred.

• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
