Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit on a 13-week contract in Rancho Mirage, California. This Night Shift position requires 12-hour shifts, with 3 shifts per week and 3-4 weekend shifts per month. There may be on-call requirements and float opportunities to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry.

The unit handles adult ICU patients with cardiac, respiratory, and neuro conditions, stroke care, sepsis, DKA, and postoperative issues, using EPIC for documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience required.
• Active CA RN license required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage patients requiring intense monitoring and care.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips including norepinephrine, dopamine, and others.
• Perform central line and arterial line placements, as well as intubations and tracheostomies.
• Conduct neuro assessments, particularly for hemorrhagic stroke patients.
• Provide care for patients with multi-system organ failure and chronic/acute renal failure.
• Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols.
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions.

Schedule/Shift

3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift, Night Shift with 3-4 weekend shifts required per month. Travelers may also be placed on call and may need to float to Medical-Surgical/Telemetry.

Job Description

The unit has an average daily census of 20 patients and provides intensive care for adult patients during critical illness. The focus includes managing patients with cardiac conditions, respiratory issues, strokes, sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), and postoperative complications. The documentation system used is EPIC.
