Job summary

Southcoast Health in New Bedford, MA, seeks an experienced ICU nurse for 32-hour evening/night shifts with weekend/holiday rotations at St. Luke's Hospital. The ICU/SICU unit is a 24-bed, Level II Trauma center with diverse critical care cases.

The ideal candidate provides comprehensive nursing care, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and participates in patient and family education while upholding high professional standards.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Massachusetts is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Three months experience preferred.
• Fully vaccinated against flu and COVID-19 or approved exemption.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate total nursing care for patients on the unit.
• Participate in patient and family teaching and education.
• Provide leadership and collaborate with the care team to maintain nursing standards.

We are searching for a talented RN for the ICU unit

Hours: 32hrs Shift: Evening/Night shift, (2) 7:15pm - 7:15am (1) 11:15pm - 7:15am with weekend and holiday rotation Location: St. Luke's Hospital - New Bedford, MA

SLH-ICU/SICU is part of a Level II Trauma center and is comprised of 24 beds. Our Critical Care Unit provides exceptional care to a multitude of critically ill patients. This includes hemodynamically unstable patients of varying diagnoses including, but not limited to: acute respiratory failure, acute MI with and without intervention, cardiogenic shock, heart blocks, life threatening arrhythmias, sepsis/septic shock, renal failure, DKA, acute CVA, hypertensive crisis, acute GI bleed, multiple trauma, multi-system organ failure and major surgical cases including vascular and neurosurgical services.

Responsibilities

Under direction of the Manager, Patient Services or designee of individual assigned unit, perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients, participating in patient and family teaching and providing leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit. Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
• Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
• Three (3) months experience is preferred.
• Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience. Pay Range USD $42.37 - USD $77.81 /Hr. Rotation Schedule Requirement every other weekend and every other holiday.
