Job summary

Lima Memorial Health System in Lima, OH seeks a Registered Nurse for 12-hour shifts. Responsibilities include patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, with collaboration to guide LPNs, PCTs and unit secretaries. Must be adaptable to varying day schedules and EMR use.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nursing program, an active OH RN license, BLS/ACLS/NIHSS, and completion of TCAR/INTCC as available. Critical care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Valid Ohio RN license; BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required or within orientation.
• TCAR and/or Inpatient Trauma Care Course (INTCC) required on hire or at first offering.
• Critical care experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and ability to work under stress.

On Call Requirement: Yes

Functioning within the Health System’s mission, vision, values, policies and procedures, the Registered Nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of assigned patients on his/her shift. RN responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care using age specific criteria. Judgments are made based upon scientific knowledge and clinical skills. The RN also assists in planning, directing and teaching non-RN staff such as LPN/PCT and Unit Secretaries. Must demonstrate -flexibility with work schedule changes.

Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Licensure/Certification: Must have a valid unrestricted RN license for the State of Ohio. Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS is required or must obtain within orientation period. Must successfully complete Basic/Intermediate Cardiac class at first offering available. TCAR and or Inpatient Trauma Care Course (INTCC) certification will be required upon hire or at first offering.

Experience: Critical care experience preferred.

Skills: Must have excellent “customer service” skills, including the ability to exhibit patience and tact with all constituents including physicians, patients and associates. Be cooperative and collaborative, and have the ability to work efficiently while in stressful situations. Must have basic computer skills and EMR (electronic medical records) experience. Must be enthusiastic for learning critical care.
