Job summary

A regional healthcare organization is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Intensive Care Unit in Falmouth, MA. This position requires critical care experience and current RN licensure in Massachusetts. Responsibilities include patient care through the nursing process, documentation, and participation in care quality evaluation. Available shifts are rotating evenings and nights with weekends. The hiring pay range is between $38.36 and $78.11 hourly, and a sign-on bonus is eligible.

Qualifications

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
One to two years recent critical care experience required.
Completion of approved De-escalation Certification Course within 4 months.

Responsibilities

Delivers patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
Maintains patient records and documentation of assessments.

Purpose of Position

Delivers patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Administers and monitors patient responses to all medications. Directs and guides patient care, teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing within the realm of Hospital Policy. Maintains and delivers the highest quality customer service standards.

Properly utilizes the nursing process in caring for patients by maintaining relevant, accurate and current patient records as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
Provides documentation of assessment of the patient throughout the Hospital admission including physical, psychological, social dimensions and discharge plans. Summarizes assessment data and initiate plan of care with communication of pertinent data to allied patient care providers as evidenced by Nursing PI activities.
Understands, assumes, and demonstrates proficiency in the role of charge nurse.
Demonstrates proficiency in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).
Assumes role of resource person regarding patient care, orientation and teaching staff.
Participates in identification of the aspects of care for the patient, indicators used to monitor the quality and appropriateness of care, and the evaluation of that care. Adheres to safety, blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
Assesses personal learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly up-dates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the age of the patient served. Shows a willingness to participate on Nursing Committees.
Represents hospital in the community and within the hospital by maintaining confidentiality regarding patients and hospital matters and by presenting the hospital in a manner that will best market the services provided.
Performs other work-related duties and activities as assigned or requested by his/her immediate supervisor.

Registered Nurse, ICU – Grade: FHMNA30/MN1, Job Code: 00330 (Per Diem: 00331)

Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
Graduate of a School of Nursing
(RN) - Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
(BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification
(ACLS) – Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification
CCHC Pharmacology Exam (successfully passed)
CCHC Basic Arrhythmia Exam (successfully passed)
One to two years recent critical care experience required
(De-escalation) - Completion of an approved De-escalation Certification Course (obtain within 4 months, offered within)
(Preferred) – A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
(Preferred) CCRN Certification
Per Diem: (2) Two years of previous acute care ICU services department experience required
