Nevada Pediatric Specialists is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) who is a certified IBCLC to join our pediatric team as a Lactation Consultant & Care Navigator in Las Vegas, NV. The role blends lactation support with care coordination, education, and pediatric triage.

The ideal candidate will provide breastfeeding education, assess needs, coordinate referrals, and follow up with families across infancy to adolescence. This on-site position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Formación

• IBCLC certification is required.
• Strong lactation knowledge and breastfeeding support experience.
• Strong clinical assessment and nursing judgment.
• Able to recognize symptoms needing urgent evaluation or escalation.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Comfortable communicating with families by phone and in person.
• Strong documentation, organizational, and follow-up skills.
• Able to multitask and manage multiple patient needs.

Responsabilidades

• Provide lactation education, counseling, and support to breastfeeding families.
• Assist with latch concerns, milk supply, pumping, feeding difficulties.
• Educate families during the newborn period.
• Perform pediatric telephone and clinical triage using nursing protocols.
• Assess symptoms and determine next steps, including home care or escalation.
• Communicate with parents regarding concerns, results, and follow-up.
• Serve as care navigator for patients needing coordination or follow-up.
• Assist families with referrals, testing, medications, appointments, and other needs.
• Follow up after hospitalizations or ER visits as appropriate.
• Identify barriers to care and help families access resources.
• Work with pediatricians, NPs, nurses, and MAs.
• Provide patient education on newborn care, medications, illness, and follow-up.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Assist with triage coverage and patient flow.
