Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse in the Operating Room at our Roanoke, VA facility. The RN provides professional nursing care across age groups, coordinating with the healthcare team to ensure safe and high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include individualized patient care, planning and evaluating care, administering treatments, and documenting in the EMR. Requires VA RN license or eligibility and BLS-HCP. ACLS/PALS/NRP may be required by area.

• Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligible to obtain licensure.

• Provides feedback and participates in shared decision‑making activities.
• Supports education activities within the department.
• Maintains confidentiality and complies with regulatory and organizational standards.

What We Require:

Education: Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.

Experience: None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required or eligibility to obtain licensure required.

Life Support: AHA BLS-HCP required. Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records. For Behavioral Health roles, must demonstrate ability to safely manage disruptive or potentially violent patients.

Compensation Range:

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
