Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks an RN I for the 5 West Adult Acute Care unit. The 26-bed unit, recently renovated, cares for medical and surgical patients, including complex IV-drug infections, with a multidisciplinary team.

The candidate must be a graduate nurse eligible for Virginia licensure; BLS required; EPIC experience preferred. Full-time, day/evening/night shifts with competitive wages and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Graduate of school of professional nursing eligible to sit for VA licensure.
• Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure.
• AHA BLS-HCP required; may need ACLS/PALS/NRP depending on unit.
• Computer skills for electronic medical record (EPIC).

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to achieve optimum outcomes.
• Collaborates with health care team to develop an age-specific plan of care.
• Administers treatments and medications as documented in EMR.
• Provides patient/family education and supports informed decision-making.
• Contributes to performance improvement activities and staff development.
