Job summary

Perimeter Behavioral of Springfield is seeking a dedicated House Supervisor – RN to join our inpatient psychiatric care team. This role is ideal for a compassionate nursing leader who supports children and adolescents receiving behavioral health treatment in a safe, structured, and patient-centered environment.

As the RN House Supervisor, you will supervise staff, coordinate rounds, ensure safety, and partner with physicians and families to maintain high-quality care during 12-hour shifts in

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri or a qualified compact license.
• Current CPR required; BLS certification preferred.
• Ability to become Handle with Care certified within 30 days of start date.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Two years of inpatient behavioral health or mental health experience preferred.
• Three years of nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain effective working relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, patients’ families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Assist in coordinating and supervising services on assigned units to promote a positive patient care environment.
• Conduct regular rounds on nursing units, including checking in with licensed and non-licensed staff, monitoring acutely ill patients, and greeting new admissions.
• Support a team-focused culture that enhances quality of care and the overall patient experience.
• Provide guidance and support to nursing staff with assessments, care planning, prioritization, education, supplies, and medication availability.
• Facilitate timely communication between nurses, providers, responsible parties, and outside vendors to support patient care needs.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure appropriate procedures and safety measures are followed.
• Help ensure staffing needs are met across assigned units.
• Ensure that all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice during the assigned shift.
• Ensure hospital policies and procedures are being followed and act as a resource to the staff.
• Responsibilities for compliance with the Joint Commission, CMS, state and regulatory standards and patient rights standards.
• Ensure Infection Control, Safety and Risk Management policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
• Review occurrences during shift, conduct investigations, reassess any involved parties, follow up on documentation and notification of all necessary individuals, close out all occurrences, and develop corrective action plans as needed.
• Participate in performance improvement team.
• Provide supervision and direction to all staff.
• Continually evaluates the activities, morale and interpersonal relationships of the staff and promote methods to improve these areas.
