Job summary

Adventist Health Clear Lake is seeking a Nursing Supervisor to provide overall supervision of the organization in collaboration with the executive team. The role includes making administrative decisions, coordinating with Nursing Directors, ensuring patient and staff safety, and overseeing clinical functions across departments.

The position requires a Bachelor's in nursing with RN licensure in California, CPR/BLS, and ACLS certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in nursing or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
• Master's Degree: Preferred
• Five years' technical experience: Preferred
• One year's experience working in a critical care setting: Preferred
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
• CPR/BLS certification: Required
• ACLS certification: Required for all facilities (except Behavioral Health): Required
• Clinical specialty and/or nursing administration certification: Preferred
• PALS certification: Required
• NRP certification: Required

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing personnel and operations by making rounds regularly.
• Assists with orientation and training of registry/traveler staff and new employees.
• Ensures compliance with laws, rules and regulations.
• Facilitates hospital throughput, bed placement, and patient transfers/discharges.
• Participates in discharge planning with patients, physicians, and social workers.
• Maintains staffing to meet patient needs and budget guidelines.
• Responds to acute unit codes and medical emergencies.
