Job summary

Beacon Behavioral Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for the inpatient unit in New Orleans, LA. This 7PM–7AM night shift role focuses on assessment, plan, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in collaboration with physicians and staff.

You will monitor patients, administer treatments, document records, and educate families while maintaining safety and compliance in a fast-paced psychiatric inpatient setting. CNAs and other professionals support a holistic care approach.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Louisiana.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).
• BLS certification and CPI training provided.
• Clinical hospital or acute care experience required.
• Knowledge of nursing standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to identify changes in patient conditions.
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians while adhering to safety protocols.
• Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with hospital policies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans based on patient needs.
• Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care.

About The Role

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in our inpatient hospital setting, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care across various departments. Your primary objective will be to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care to ensure optimal patient outcomes. You will collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and adjust individualized care plans. This role demands a compassionate approach to patient interaction, ensuring comfort and support during treatment and recovery. Minimum Qualifications

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Louisiana.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification: Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) - we provide training.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in a hospital or acute care setting.
• Strong understanding of nursing principles, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
• Advanced certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
• Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and clinical documentation software.
• Specialized experience in critical care, emergency nursing, or a specific clinical specialty.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with experience in patient education or mentoring junior staff.
