Job summary

Empath Health in Southwest Florida is seeking an RN PRN to join our team serving hospice patients across Village on the Isle, Venice, Port Charlotte and Arcadia.

Shift options include 8am–8:30pm or 8pm–8:30am with a minimum of 64 hours per month; you may float to different hospice houses as needed. RN license in Florida required, with 1 year bedside nursing experience; terminally ill care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursing.
• Education: Associate’s degree in nursing; Licensure: Florida RN.
• Experience in caring for terminally ill patients preferred; ability to float to multiple hospice houses as needed.

Responsibilities

• Identify and coordinate patient/family needs; provide preventive and supportive care to terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Use assessment, intervention and teaching to maximize comfort and quality of life.
• Provide oversight/supervision of LPN and/or aide in GIP environment.
• RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.
• Required to float if needed.

Empath Health is currently seeking an RN PRN to join our team.

This shift works 8am-8:30pm or 8pm-8:30am and provides a minimum of 64 hours/month of availability. This individual will fill in at hospice houses in Village on the Isle, Venice, Port Charlotte and Arcadia.

What you'll Do:

• Is responsible for identifying and coordinating patient/family needs and for providing preventive and supportive care to the terminally ill patient/family unit.
• Utilizes assessment, intervention and teaching skills to maximize patient comfort and to enhance the quality of life to the patient/family unit.
• Provides oversight and supervision of the LPN and/or aide for the delivery of patient care in the GIP environment.
• The RN reports to Patient/Family Care Coordinator/Care Center Manager.
• Required to float if needed.

What You'll Need

Position Requirements minimum of 1 year recent bedside nursingEducation and/or Experience: Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; Minimum of or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Licensure: Valid Florida license as a Registered Nurse Valid Florida State Driver’s License Minimum of 1 year of current active nursing experience; with experience in caring for terminally ill patients or those with life threatening illnesses preferred; prefer one (1) year experience in an acute or post acute care setting.
