Job summary

Centerpoint Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare, offers a year-long RN Residency Program to help new graduates transition from student nurse to registered nurse with hands-on learning and mentoring. The program emphasizes clinical training, preceptorship, and evidence-based practice projects.

Eligibility includes US education, OPT activation, and willingness to pursue Day One CPT studies; sponsorship (EB3) is available for eligible international graduates.

Qualifications

• BLS obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Other certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Document care in the patient record.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications; monitor response.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests.
• Teach patients and families about medical condition, treatment plan, medications and follow-up measures.
